Target-triggered Au NPs self-assembled for fluorescence-SERS dual-mode monitoring of telomerase in living cells and in vivo

Fuzhi Shen et al.

Summary: This study developed a dual-mode strategy combining surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) and fluorescence approaches for the detection of telomerase in complex biological environments. The dual-mode nanoprobe exhibited high selectivity and sensitivity to telomerase and could distinguish different types of tumor cells through in situ imaging.

DNAzyme-driven tripedal DNA walker mediated signal-on and label-free for electrochemical detection of α-synuclein oligomers

Yuanxun Gong et al.

Summary: In Parkinson's disease, the soluble alpha-synuclein oligomer is a reliable molecular biomarker. This study presents an innovative label-free and signal-on electrochemical apta-sensor for the quantification of alpha-syn oligomers. The tripedal DNA walkers triggered by alpha-syn oligomers outperformed common DNA walkers, leading to greater amplification efficiency. With the assistance of Mg2+-dependent DNAzyme, the tripedal DNA walkers could scissor DNA hairpins, generating enhanced current signals. The developed aptasensor demonstrated high sensitivity, anti-interference, and reproducibility, making it a promising tool for bioanalysis in complex biological environments.

Smart Programmable Scalable Dual-Mode Diagnostic Logic Nanoflare Strategy for Dual-Tumor Marker Detection

Zhiheng Cai et al.

Summary: Compared with single-marker detection, the detection of multiple targets in complex environments can provide more reliable results. In this study, miRNA-21 and APE1 were detected using gold nanoflares and simple logic components, demonstrating excellent biocompatibility and high sensitivity. The strategy highlights the reuse of enzymes, reducing the detection limit for low-abundance targets and expanding its potential for application.

Liposome-assisted chemical redox cycling strategy for advanced signal amplification: A proof-of-concept toward sensitive electrochemiluminescence immunoassay

Jun-Tao Cao et al.

Summary: This study presents a novel signal amplification strategy for electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensors based on liposome-assisted chemical redox cycling. The strategy involves the in situ formation of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) on titanium dioxide nanotubes (TiO2 NTs) electrode. The detection of prostate specific antigen (PSA) was demonstrated using ascorbic acid (AA)-loaded liposome and Au nanoclusters (Au NCs)/TiO2 NTs as working electrodes. The multiple signal amplification strategy achieved ultrasensitive detection of PSA with a wide linear concentration range.

Target-Activating and Toehold Displacement Ag NCs/GO Biosensor-Mediating Signal Shift and Enhancement for Simultaneous Multiple Detection

Da-Qian Feng et al.

Summary: A new multicolor silver nanoclusters/graphene oxide hybrid material has been demonstrated to achieve emission shift and enhancement through entropy-driven enzyme-free toehold-mediated strand displacement reaction. By designing two different synthesis routes, the material successfully constructs a biosensor for influenza A virus subtype genes, resulting in significant fluorescence enhancement and emission shift. This novel approach shows promising application prospect in accurate diagnosis and treatment with remarkable emission recovery rates and multichannel signal.
