Concentration-driven polymorphic mesocrystal and morphosynthetic transformation toward omni-adsorbent with the widest range of pores

Summary: A synthesis strategy for polymorphic metal-organic mesocrystals governed by bio-inspired particle-mediated growth is presented. The primary structures of the mesocrystals can be differentiated into various morphologies composed of identical building units. The hierarchical architectures of the mesocrystals are inherited into respective mesocarbon through a simple thermal conversion process, resulting in diversified pore architecture with adsorption capability for molecules of different scales.
