Superior dual mode electrochemical sensing of NH3 using Ni2+ doped CuO anode with lanthanum gallate based electrolyte

S. Nithya et al.

Summary: A lanthanum gallate based electrochemical sensor was investigated in amperometric and potentiometric modes. The sensor with 2 mol % Ni2+ doped CuO exhibited highest sensitivity in both modes. The reason for this sensitivity was determined through electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. The sensor showed reproducibility and fast operation, and could detect ammonia concentration as low as 3 ppm.
