Summary: With ion mobility spectrometry increasingly used in mass spectrometry to enhance separation, low ion throughput is a challenge for the HiKE-IMS. Multiplexing techniques such as Fourier transform and Hadamard transform are commonly used to improve ion throughput and signal-to-noise ratio. In this study, the implementation of Hadamard transform on the HiKE-IMS using a Teensy 4.1 microcontroller resulted in increased analyte signal. However, capacitive coupling limited the maximum SNR gain.
