Pre-eclampsia

Evdokia Dimitriadis et al.

Summary: Pre-eclampsia is a life-threatening disease unique to humans during pregnancy and is a major cause of morbidity and mortality for mothers and newborns. Survivors of pre-eclampsia have an increased risk of stroke, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes, while babies from pre-eclamptic pregnancies are at greater risk of preterm birth, perinatal death, neurodevelopmental disability, and cardiovascular and metabolic diseases later in life.

Cathepsin C promotes colorectal cancer metastasis by regulating immune escape through upregulating CSF

Yun-Zhi Dang et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that CTSC promotes metastasis in CRC. High CTSC expression is associated with poor prognosis and is positively correlated with tumor differentiation, invasion, lymph node metastasis, and AJCC stage in human CRC. CTSC overexpression leads to recruitment of MDSCs and TAMs through the CSF1/CSF1R axis, and inhibition of this axis reduces CTSC-mediated MDSCs and TAMs infiltration and CRC metastasis. Therefore, interrupting this oncogenic loop may be a promising treatment strategy for inhibiting CTSC-driven CRC metastasis.

Downregulation of cathepsin C alleviates endothelial cell dysfunction by suppressing p38 MAPK/NF-κB pathway in preeclampsia

Fan Lu et al.

Summary: In this study, it was discovered that downregulation of cathepsin C can improve the function of HUVEC and enhance its protective effect against H/R injury by repressing the p38 MAPK/NF-kappa B pathway.

Efficacy of Low Molecular Heparin on Preeclampsia by Inhibiting Apoptosis of Trophoblasts via the p38MAPK Signaling Pathway

Dandan Quan et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that low molecular heparin can alleviate preeclampsia by inhibiting the p38MAPK signaling pathway, reducing apoptosis of trophoblasts, and promoting their proliferation and migration.

Pre-eclampsia

Lucy C. Chappell et al.

Summary: Pre-eclampsia is a pregnancy disorder characterized by placental malperfusion, leading to hypertension and multi-organ injury, with potential fetal growth restriction and stillbirth. While prophylactic low-dose aspirin can reduce the risk of preterm pre-eclampsia, there are currently no curative treatments once pre-eclampsia is diagnosed except for delivery. Ongoing studies are evaluating various strategies and drugs to prevent and manage pre-eclampsia.
