Redefining Mandibular Sub-units: The ABC Classification and Surgical Strategies for Lower Face Contouring

Xiaoshuang Guo et al.

Summary: This study reviewed and analyzed 1241 patients diagnosed with square faces who underwent customized lower face contouring surgeries. They proposed an ABC classification system for facilitating surgical planning based on quantitative summarization of the CT database and the senior author's experience. The modified classification system prioritizes critical measurements in three aesthetic zones and demonstrated how to facilitate surgical planning using this system.

Clustering coefficients as measures of the complex interactions in a directed weighted multilayer network

Paolo Bartesaghi et al.

Summary: In this paper, new definitions of clustering coefficient for weighted and directed multilayer networks are provided. The clustering coefficients proposed in the literature for weighted directed monoplex networks are extended in the multilayer theoretical context. The coefficients quantify the depth of a node's involvement in a cohesive structure, focusing on a single node, a single layer, or the entire system, respectively. The coefficients convey several characteristics inherent to the complex topology of the multilayer network. Their effectiveness is tested by applying them to the international trade network, which is a particularly complex structure. The coefficients successfully describe the interrelations of the trade network, allowing for the analysis of the effects of countries and sectors and their interactions.

Uncertainty propagation in risk and resilience analysis of hierarchical systems

Armin Tabandeh et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel formulation for uncertainty propagation in risk and resilience analysis of hierarchical systems. The main challenges lie in the complexity of the computational workflow and high-dimensional probability space. The proposed formulation includes a multi-level uncertainty propagation approach to reduce problem dimensionality and a variables-grouping approach to reduce the number of model evaluations.

Analysis of epidemic vaccination strategies by node importance and evolutionary game on complex networks

Xueyu Meng et al.

Summary: In this paper, a novel SIRV-NI-EG model is established to analyze the evolution of vaccination strategy under the combination of mandatory vaccination and voluntary vaccination. By evaluating node importance and conducting evolutionary game analysis, better evaluation indicators than random vaccination are obtained.

Topology transformation-based multi-path algorithm for urban rail transit network

Yuanyuan Hao et al.

Summary: In large-scale rail networks, existing multi-path algorithms often suffer from inefficiency. Although most research has focused on improving the search ability of these algorithms, there have been few investigations on simplifying the network. This study proposes a novel multi-path algorithm that compresses the network space to search for multiple paths. Experimental results on the Beijing rail network demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed algorithm.

Eigenvector-based centralities for multilayer temporal networks under the framework of tensor computation

Laishui Lv et al.

Summary: In this paper, the application of eigenvector-based centralities in multilayer and temporal networks is introduced, and novel centrality algorithms for ranking nodes, layers, and time stamps are proposed. By constructing a sixth-order tensor and utilizing cosine similarity, the multilayer and temporal features of networks can be better described.

Defense resource allocation in road dangerous goods transportation network: A Self-Contained Girvan-Newman Algorithm and Mean Variance Model combined approach

Wencheng Huang et al.

Summary: This study introduces a method that combines a self-contained Girvan-Newman algorithm with a mean variance model for allocating defense resources in a dangerous goods transportation network. By dividing the entire network into different communities and allocating resources based on the covariance matrix of each community using the mean variance model, a more effective defense resource allocation is achieved.
