Shuaijun Guo et al.

Summary: This study used data from the Longitudinal Study of Australian Children (LSAC) to represent and evaluate positive childhood experiences (PCEs) using the Health Outcomes from Positive Experiences (HOPE) framework. Association of Lifestyle Activities with Functional Brain Connectivity and Relationship to Cognitive Decline among Older Adults

Anja Soldan et al.

Summary: The study found positive relationships between engagement in cognitive activities and connectivity within the dorsal attention network, as well as between physical activity levels and connectivity within several brain networks, including default-mode, limbic, and frontoparietal control networks. Higher cognitive and physical activity levels were independently associated with higher network modularity, suggesting functional network specialization.

Summary: The study found that depressive symptoms in people with dementia were significantly associated with locus of control (LoC), general health, and dementia insight at baseline, as well as with LoC and depressive symptoms at baseline for follow-up. These findings highlight the importance of understanding and addressing depression in individuals with dementia, with a focus on internalizing perceived control.

Associations of adverse and positive childhood experiences with adult physical and mental health and risk behaviours in Slovenia

Metka Kuhar et al.

Summary: The study found that adverse childhood experiences are associated with diminished health functioning in adulthood, but positive childhood experiences can reduce the risks for negative outcomes. Additionally, high ACEs exposure is linked with poor self-rated health, mental health problems, and physical inactivity, while high PCEs are associated with reduced risks of these issues.
