Prevalence and influencing factors of posttraumatic growth among nurses suffering from workplace violence: A cross-sectional study

Summary: The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of posttraumatic growth among nurses suffering from workplace violence and its relationship with compassion satisfaction, burnout, and secondary traumatic stress. The study also aimed to determine the influencing factors for posttraumatic growth in this population. The findings showed that nurses experienced moderate levels of compassion satisfaction, burnout, and secondary traumatic stress, while posttraumatic growth was more influenced by work-related and lifestyle-related variables.

COVID-19 pandemic-related posttraumatic growth in a small cohort of university students: A 1-year longitudinal study

Summary: The current study investigated the prevalence of posttraumatic growth (PTG) in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and explored the psychological factors that predict COVID-19 pandemic-related PTG. The findings revealed that approximately one in five participants had moderate levels of PTG at both time points. Posttraumatic stress, social support, positive affect, and social skills were identified as positive predictors of PTG.

Direct exposure to potentially traumatic events (PTEs) is associated with increased odds of lifetime and past-month PTSD, while indirect exposure does not show this association. While some intervention models have been proposed, their universal applicability remains uncertain, and there is a lack of translational data in this area.

Association Between mRNA Vaccination and COVID-19 Hospitalization and Disease Severity

Summary: This study evaluated the association between mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and COVID-19 hospitalization, as well as disease progression to critical illness among hospitalized patients. Factors associated with post-traumatic growth in response to the COVID-19 pandemic: Results from a national sample of US military veterans

Summary: The study found that worries about the pandemic's effect on physical and mental health, posttraumatic growth in response to previous traumas, and pandemic-related avoidance symptoms were the strongest correlates of pandemic-related posttraumatic growth in U.S. veterans. An inverted-U shaped relationship between pandemic-related PTSD symptoms and endorsement of posttraumatic growth was observed, with moderate severity of PTSD symptoms being optimal in identifying veterans who experienced posttraumatic growth.
