This study provides a detailed analysis of the d*(2380) resonance, focusing on its quark-gluon degrees of freedom. Using the SU(3) chiral constituent quark model and Resonating Group Method, the mass, width, wave function, and partial widths of the d*(2380) state with the +C8C8 structure are evaluated. The obtained results are in good agreement with experimental data, suggesting that d*(2380) can be classified as a compact hexaquark system with a dominant hidden-color component. The electromagnetic characteristics of d* are also calculated and can be used to distinguish different structures of d*.
After a brief review of the experimental findings of d*(2380) and several theoretical efforts to interpret its structure, the study of d*(2380) on the quark-gluon degrees of freedom is presented in detail. On the basis of the SU(3) chiral constituent quark model and Resonating Group Method, the mass, width, wave function, and partial widths of almost all possible strong decays of the d*(2380) state with the increment increment + C8C8 structure are evaluated. The obtained results agree with the data quite well, which implies that d*(2380) could be assigned as a compact hexaquark system with the hidden-color component being dominant. The electromagnetic characteristics of d* , such as the charge distribution, charge radius, multipole moment, and etc. are further calculated. Because of the sensitivity of these physical quantities to different interpretations of d* , they can be used as additional physical quantities to distinguish the structures of d*. Moreover, the production of d* from the gamma d reaction, from the Y (nS) decays in the e+e- annihilations, and from the pp over bar annihilation at forthcoming P over bar anda are also predicted and calculated. According to these predictions, experiments on Belle II, P over bar anda, BEPC, and other large scientific facilities may be used to look for the d*(2380) resonance and reveal its nature.(c) 2023 Elsevier B.V.
