Pulsating nanofluid flow in a wavy bifurcating channel under partially active uniform magnetic field effects

Lioua Kolsi et al.

Summary: This study numerically analyzed the separated flow and thermal performance characteristics in a bifurcating channel by combining surface corrugation, partially active magnetic field, nanoparticle loading in the base fluid, and flow pulsations. It was found that the highest heat transfer improvement was achieved by using corrugations, followed by flow pulsations and magnetic field. The utilization of nanofluids further enhanced the thermal performance.

Heat transfer characteristics and flow features of nanofluids in parallel flat minichannels

Hongyan Wang et al.

Summary: Nanofluid in a mini/microchannel heat sink shows high single-phase enhancement of heat transfer. The Nusselt number reaches the maximum increment at a concentration of 0.01% for Al2O3-H2O nanofluid, and the friction factor increases by 15.1%. Low-concentration nanofluids demonstrate efficient heat transfer under low flow resistance compared to previous studies.

A computational conjugate heat transfer study of a rectangular minichannel undergoing sinusoidal flow pulsations

P. S. Kumavat et al.

Summary: The development of smaller and more densely packed electronic devices has led to increasing heat flux densities, requiring new liquid-based heat exchange technologies. Pulsating flow is seen as a potential solution for high heat flux densities, but there is a lack of research on the relationship between pulsating characteristics and heat transfer in published literature. This study develops a validated three-dimensional computational model to investigate fully developed pulsating flows in a heated rectangular minichannel.

Analysis of hybrid nanofluid and surface corrugation in the laminar convective flow through an encapsulated PCM filled vertical cylinder and POD-based modeling

Fatih Selimefendigil et al.

Summary: In this study, numerical simulations were used to investigate the performance assessment of a PCM filled three-dimensional vertical cylinder under the combined effects of surface corrugation and presence of binary nanoparticles in the heat transfer fluid. Results showed that thermal transport features are enhanced and charging time is reduced for higher values of Reynolds number and solid volume fraction of the binary mixture in the heat transfer fluid.

Summary: This paper introduced the research status of pulsating flow, including different types of pulsating flow and their enhancement of heat transfer. Different research teams have studied the effects of different parameters on the enhancement of flow and heat transfer, but the mechanism of pulsating flow has not been fully revealed. Further research is needed to investigate parameters that influence pulsating flow and the effect of heat transfer.
