Enhancement of sperm quality and fertility-related parameters in Hubbard grandparent rooster fed diets supplemented with soybean lecithin and vitamin E

Shahram Shabani et al.

Summary: The study found that adding 1% soybean lecithin and vitamin E can improve semen quality parameters and reproductive hormone levels in roosters. Supplementing diets with vitamin E and 1 or 2% lecithin can enhance sperm quality and motility. In addition, vitamin E supplementation can reduce oxidative damage.

Assessing different liquid-storage temperatures for rooster spermatozoa

Marcel H. Blank et al.

Summary: The study revealed that storage at 37 degrees Celsius had the most damaging effect on sperm, while differences between storage at 5 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius mainly appeared after 8 hours. Progressive motility and mitochondrial function decreased at different rates under various temperatures, and oxidative stress showed similar results at 5 and 25 degrees Celsius after 24 hours of storage.

Sperm head morphometry and chromatin condensation are in constant change at seminiferous tubules, epididymis, and ductus deferens in bulls

Muller Carrara Martins et al.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate sperm head morphometry and chromatin condensation in different regions of bulls' reproductive tract. Results showed that spermatozoa in seminiferous tubules region had significantly lower morphometry and higher chromatin alteration, which decreased along the migration towards ductus deferens. The study suggests that chromatin condensation is important for sperm head morphometry and could be used as biomarkers for fertility prediction in bulls.

CLASSIFICATION OF THE SPERM CHROMATIN COMPACTION ALTERATIONS IN BULLS (Bos taurus) AND ITS CORRELATION WITH THE EFFICIENCY OF THE IN VITRO PRODUCTION OF EMBRYOS

Sara Hissae Hiraiwa et al.

Summary: This study aims to classify sperm chromatin compaction alterations in bulls based on the affected area location and evaluate their correlation with in vitro production of embryos. It found that the intensity of chromatin decompaction affects bull fertility, while chromatin heterogeneity is not a significant factor in IVPE results.
