Functionalised polystyrene resins have been found to be efficient catalysts in the synthesis of specific complexes, with the conversion rate controlled by the polymer structure. The addition of amines or amino acids can further yield substituted 13-butadienyl complexes, which have been analyzed by NMR.
ABSTR A C T Polystyrene resins functionalised with phosphonium chloride or bromide have been found to function as efficient catalysts in the synthesis of complexes of the type [MoCl(CO)2(13-CH2C(COCl)C = CH2)L2], the rate of con -version being controlled by the structure of the polymer. Subsequent addition of amines or amino acids to the resulting solutions gave amide 2-substituted 13- butadienyl complexes, which have been investigated by NMR analysis.
