Organosilanes and their magnetic nanoparticles as naked eye red emissive sensors for Ag+ ions and potent anti-oxidants

Gurjaspreet Singh et al.

Summary: This article describes the synthesis and structural characterization of a triazole-appended isatin linked silane-based sensor using a highly efficient click chemistry approach. The chemosensor showed high selectivity towards Ag+ ions and underwent a color change in their presence, along with a red shift in absorption spectra. Immobilization of the ligand on the surface of iron oxide silica nanoparticles enhanced sensing applications, with the resulting nanocomposites demonstrating a greater binding potential to Ag+ ions. Additionally, the synthesized organosilanes were evaluated for cytotoxicity and antioxidant activity.
