Characterization of NO2 gas sensing for ZnO nanostructure grown hydrothermally on porous silicon

Shahad S. Khudiar et al.

Summary: ZnO nanostructures are effective materials for gas sensors, especially for NO2 gas sensors. This review article explores the advances in NO2 gas sensors based on ZnO nanoparticles, including surface morphology analysis, optical characteristics study, and electrical property measurements. Adjusting the operating temperature of the sensor can significantly impact its sensitivity, recovery time, and response time.

Biosynthesis of copper oxide nanoparticles mediated Annona muricata as cytotoxic and apoptosis inducer factor in breast cancer cell lines

Rana Mahmood et al.

Summary: This study investigated a simple bio-synthesis approach for the synthesis of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) and tested their anti-cancer effects. The results showed that the synthesized nanoparticles inhibited the proliferation of breast cancer cells while having minimal effect on healthy cells. The nanoparticles were taken up by cancer cells, triggering apoptosis and increasing lactate dehydrogenase production. Therefore, the study suggests that the synthesized CuO NPs have anti-proliferative effects by inducing cell death.

Preparation and characterization of C:Se nano-rods ablated on porous silicon

Duha H. Jwied et al.

Summary: Carbon:Selenium nanoparticles were prepared by laser ablation at different laser energies and wavelengths, followed by deposition on porous silicon. The nanocrystalline nature and rod-like shape of the particles were confirmed through XRD and AFM analysis, with an increase in optical energy gap observed. The electrical properties of the Al/C:SeNPs/PS/Si/Al heterojunction were determined through J-V measurements.

Synthesis of C:Se nanoparticles ablated on porous silicon for sensing NO2 and NH3 gases

Duha H. Jwied et al.

Summary: In this study, carbon: selenium nanoparticles (C:Se NPs) were synthesized using laser ablation and their structural properties were examined. These nanoparticles showed potential applications in gas sensors for NH3 and NO2 with varying sensitivity and response times based on the laser energy used for ablation.
