miR171-targeted SCARECROW-LIKE genes CsSCL2 and CsSCL3 regulate somatic embryogenesis in citrus

Meng-Qi Feng et al.

Summary: The regulatory pathway of miR171c-targeted CsSCL2/3 in somatic embryogenesis (SE) in citrus was uncovered, revealing that CsSCL2/3 modulate reactive oxygen species (ROS) homeostasis through the interactive protein CsClot and directly suppress the expression of regeneration-related genes, thus regulating SE and maintenance of regeneration capability in citrus.

Wound-induced signals regulate root organogenesis in Arabidopsis explants

Seung Yong Shin et al.

Summary: This study identified the importance of ROS and Ca2+ in de novo root organogenesis in detached leaves. It was found that ROS and Ca2+ have different functions in regulating this process, with ROS acting upstream of auxin signaling and Ca2+ acting downstream of auxin. Furthermore, it was observed that ROS and Ca2+ have little effect on auxin biosynthesis and transport in explants.

Transcriptional landscapes of de novo root regeneration from detached Arabidopsis leaves revealed by time-lapse and single-cell RNA sequencing analyses

Wu Liu et al.

Summary: This study provides a comprehensive transcriptional framework of de novo root regeneration (DNRR) in detached Arabidopsis leaves through time-lapse RNA sequencing. It reveals the rapid activation of jasmonate, ethylene, and reactive oxygen species pathways in response to wounding, suggesting their roles as wound signals to promote DNRR. Additionally, key factors involved in DNRR, including genes controlling aboveground and root organogenesis, as well as wound-induced regeneration, are identified.

Jasmonate inhibits adventitious root initiation through repression of CKX1 and activation of RAP2.6L transcription factor in Arabidopsis

Asma Dob et al.

Summary: Adventitious rooting is a process that allows plants to reproduce asexually and adapt to environmental stresses, controlled by interconnected transcriptional and hormonal networks. Reprogramming events involve the down-regulation of cytokinin signaling and response genes, triggering adventitious root initiation. Additionally, previously unknown genetic interactions between jasmonate and cytokinin play key roles in adventitious rooting.
