Direct measurement of the 3He+ magnetic moments

Summary: Helium-3 has become a significant candidate for research in various fields. In this study, the nuclear magnetic moment and hyperfine structure of He-3(+) were directly measured, providing a direct calibration for He-3 NMR probes and improving the precision of magnetometry by one order of magnitude. The measured values also enabled the determination of the Zemach radius with higher precision compared to previous results.

Nuclear magnetic shielding in HD and HT

Summary: In this study, we calculate the nuclear magnetic shielding in HD and HT molecules, taking into account both complete and perturbative effects of nuclear masses. By comparing the differences in shielding, we obtain the magnetic moments of deuterium and tritium in agreement with the CODATA value, with the accuracy limited only by nuclear magnetic resonance measurements. Importantly, our calculations suggest the potential for improving the determination of nuclear magnetic moments.

QED Effect on the Nuclear Magnetic Shielding of 3He

Summary: The study obtained the leading quantum electrodynamic corrections to nuclear magnetic shielding in one- and two-electron atomic systems and calculated the shielding constants for 1H, 3He+, and 3He. These results are orders of magnitude more accurate than previous ones and open the window for high-precision absolute magnetometry using 3He NMR probes. The theoretical approach presented can be applied to all other light atomic and molecular systems, facilitating the improved determination of magnetic moments of any light nuclei.

Summary: The self-consistent values of physics and chemistry constants recommended by CODATA for 2018 are reported, with discussions on major improvements and inconsistencies. Many constants have reduced uncertainties or exact values due to the transition to the revised SI. However, inconsistencies remain for the gravitational constant and the muon magnetic-moment anomaly.
