Two-dimensional extended Hubbard model at half-filling

A. Sherman

Summary: In this study, the extended Hubbard model on a two-dimensional square lattice at half-filling is investigated using the strong coupling diagram technique. The first-order phase transition in the charge subsystem is found to occur at v = v(c) greater than or similar to U/4. The transition is characterized by an abrupt sign change in the zero-frequency charge susceptibility at the corner of the Brillouin zone. The alternating deviations of electron occupations from the mean value on neighboring sites have short-range order due to fluctuations.

Thermodynamics of the metal-insulator transition in the extended Hubbard model from determinantal quantum Monte Carlo

Alexander Sushchyev et al.

Summary: This study investigates the thermodynamic properties of the extended Hubbard model on a half-filled square lattice in the Slater regime at intermediate coupling using finite-temperature determinantal quantum Monte Carlo simulations. The effects of both nearest-neighbor interactions and long-range Coulomb interactions are considered, and a recently proposed scenario regarding a first-order metal-insulator transition in this interaction regime is assessed.

Magnetic Properties and Superconductivity in the Two-Dimensional Repulsive Hubbard Model

Alexei Sherman

Summary: A new method is suggested to estimate parameters for the two-dimensional Hubbard model to ensure the fulfillment of the Mermin-Wagner theorem in the strong coupling diagram technique (SCDT). The calculated magnetic quantities are in good agreement with experiment results, and the obtained spin and charge vertices are used to investigate superconductivity under strong correlations. While no superconducting transition is found in the t-U model, a transition occurs in the t-t'-t ''-U model at approximately T-c=0.016t. The difference between the two models lies in the renormalized hopping parameters describing electron motion in SCDT.

Dynamical cluster approximation study of electron localization in the extended Hubbard model

Hanna Terletska et al.

Summary: In this study, the phase transitions and mechanisms of electron localization in the extended Hubbard model were examined using the dynamical cluster approximation on a 2 x 2 cluster. The interplay of charge order and Mott physics was explored, with findings showing the effects of nearest-neighbor Coulomb interaction V on correlations in metallic and insulating regimes, as well as the different correlation aspects of charge order and Mott states.
