The crash injury severity prediction of traffic accident using an improved wrappers feature selection algorithm

Shufeng Wang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new wrapper feature selection algorithm to improve the prediction accuracy of injury severity in traffic accidents. By analyzing the importance of factors and verifying through multiple models, the study shows that the SVM model has better predictive performance. Important factors such as seat belts, airbags, relative speed, and vehicle weight are identified, and suggestions to improve traffic safety are provided.

A hybrid FAHP-MCGP approach to sustainable assessment of candidate EOR methods for a given oil reservoir

Foukerdi Amirali et al.

Summary: The study suggests using a hybrid framework to assess and prioritize different EOR scenarios from a sustainability perspective. A comprehensive set of sustainability criteria was developed to screen EOR projects, and the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) was applied to determine the relative weights of the most influential sustainability criteria. Finally, a Multi-Choice Goal Programming (MCGP) model was used to prioritize the performance of EOR methods.

Impact of newly implemented enhanced oil and gas recovery screening policy on current oil production and future energy supply in India

Achinta Bera et al.

Summary: The current oil production in India relies heavily on mature fields, with insufficient discovery of new oil and gas fields posing a challenge to energy supply; Innovative EOR techniques are needed to meet the growing global crude oil demand; The Indian government has approved an EOGR policy and plans to implement it in the next 10 years, which is expected to significantly benefit India's energy economy and reduce crude oil imports.

Application of machine learning techniques for selecting the most suitable enhanced oil recovery method; challenges and opportunities

Yasaman Cheraghi et al.

Summary: This paper presents a step-by-step procedure of applying Machine Learning in Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) screening, focusing on developing models for predicting suitable EOR methods for a candidate reservoir. Results show that Random Forest (RF) and deep Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) models performed the best, while Naive Bayes (NB) classifier had the weakest performance. The importance of cross-checking ML results with other EOR screening approaches or expert's knowledge is emphasized to improve reliability.

A new machine learning ensemble model for class imbalance problem of screening enhanced oil recovery methods

Mohsen Pirizadeh et al.

Summary: Enhanced Oil Recovery methods are crucial for extracting oil from heavy reservoirs, but choosing the right method can be challenging due to the high number of options and associated financial risks. Using ensemble learning approaches can help overcome class imbalance issues and improve model accuracy in EOR predictions.
