Physiotherapy via telehealth for acute respiratory exacerbations in paediatric cystic fibrosis

Summary: This study examined the clinical outcomes, safety, and efficiency of a hybrid telehealth physiotherapy model in Hospital in the Home care for young patients with cystic fibrosis during respiratory exacerbations. The results demonstrated that the hybrid model achieved higher rates of recovery and no adverse events compared to standard care. Furthermore, the hybrid model also saved significant travel time and distance.

Quality of home spirometry performance amongst adults with cystic fibrosis

Summary: This study found that unsupervised portable spirometry in adult cystic fibrosis patients can produce acceptable and repeatable results. The quality of spirometry was excellent or very good for the majority of patients, with no significant differences between supervised and unsupervised spirometry performed within a 24-hour period.
