Dehydrogenative Imination of Low-Valent Sulfur Compounds-Fast and Scalable Synthesis of Sulfilimines, Sulfinamidines, and Sulfinimidate Esters

Martin Klein et al.

Summary: In this study, an electrochemical pathway is described for the synthesis of sulfilimines, sulfoximines, sulfinamidines, and sulfinimidate esters from readily available low-valent sulfur compounds and primary amides or their analogues. The combination of solvents and supporting electrolytes acts as both an electrolyte and a mediator, enabling efficient use of reactants. The process is atom-efficient and sustainable, with the ability to easily recover both solvents and electrolytes.
