In this study, a novel fabric-based piezoresistive force sensor array based on Ti3AlC2/PEDOT:PSS nanocomposite was presented. The sensor exhibits ultrahigh sensitivity, wide force detection range, and fast response and recovery times. This research opens up new possibilities for the development of smart textiles and advanced wearable technologies.
Flexible, lightweight, and highly sensitive force sensors have broad applicability in wearable electronics, robotics, and human-machine interfaces. In this study, we present a novel fabric-based piezoresistive force sensor array based on Ti3AlC2/PEDOT:PSS nanocomposite. Fabric-based force sensors were constructed using a four layer sandwich structure with three fabrication techniques: screen-printing for electrode arrays, immersion for the sensing layer, and pressing for assembling the force sensor arrays. The fabricated force sensor exhibits an ultrahigh sensitivity up to 1.51 N-1. The fabric-based piezoresistive Ti3AlC2/PEDOT:PSS force sensor shows a wide force detection range of 0-200 N and fast response and recovery times of 0.4 s and 0.08 s, respectively. This study opens up new possibilities for the development of smart textiles and advanced wearable technologies that could revolutionize various industries.
