A Variational Framework for Underwater Image Dehazing and Deblurring

Jun Xie et al.

Summary: Underwater captured images are often degraded by absorbing and scattering, resulting in low contrast, haze, and blurriness. To address these issues, a red channel prior guided variational framework based on the complete underwater image formation model (UIFM) is proposed. Experimental results demonstrate that the method performs well in dehazing and deblurring tasks, surpassing other state-of-the-art algorithms.

Fusion-based underwater image enhancement with category-specific color correction and dehazing

Yiming Li et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a fusion-based underwater image enhancement technique, which divides underwater images into two categories and applies different algorithms for color correction. A ground-dehazing algorithm is used to remove haze in the underwater image, and a channel-wise fusion method is used to fuse the color-corrected image and dehazed image. Experimental results demonstrate the robustness and state-of-the-art performance of this method in different underwater scenes.
