Switching dynamics in -symmetric structures with saturable cubic nonlinear response

Summary: This study investigates the impact of PT-symmetry on the switching characteristics of fibre Bragg gratings and directional couplers with saturable nonlinear response. The results show that only the unbroken regime of PT-symmetry can provide switching in the directional coupler.
