Stereo camera calibration for large field of view digital image correlation using zoom lens

Summary: A calibration method for stereo camera with large field of view using zoom lenses was proposed, employing Magill's formula to calculate intrinsic parameters with small and large object distances. Extrinsic parameters were calibrated in small FOV using a regular sized calibration board and then calculated in large FOV. Verification experiments showed a 3D reconstruction error of approximately 1 mm for a FOV of about 6 x 6 m, indicating the method will broaden the application range for 3D digital image correlation in scientific and engineering fields.
