Large-range and high-precision autofocus method based on an annular DOE for a laser direct writing system

Jialin Du et al.

Summary: We propose a large-range and high-precision autofocus method based on an annular diffractive optical element for a laser direct writing system. The method can obtain the defocus direction and amount by analyzing the shape of the return spot. Experimental results demonstrate that the method has a linear detection range of at least 76 μm, a sensitivity of 100 nm, a detection accuracy of 100 nm, and a noise fluctuation within 50 nm. The proposed automatic focus detection method can be widely applied in various wafer-scale complex microstructure preparation systems.

Rapid identification of ore minerals using multi-scale dilated convolutional attention network associated with portable Raman spectroscopy

Yaoyi Cai et al.

Summary: This paper presents a fast and accurate method for identifying unknown ore mineral samples using portable Raman spectroscopy and deep learning. Resampling and background subtraction techniques are applied to eliminate interference, and a multi-scale dilated convolutional attention network is designed for complex mineral spectral classification. Comparative studies show that our method outperforms other models in mineral identification.

Temporal and spatial evolution of biochar chemical structure during biomass pellet pyrolysis from the insights of micro-Raman spectroscopy

Yuanjing Chen et al.

Summary: The study revealed two stages of pellet pyrolysis: the decomposition of raw biomass and the condensation reactions of aromatic ring systems. The axial and radial heterogeneity of char chemical structure is mainly caused by heat transfer during uniform heating of the whole pellet, while mass transfer can eliminate this heterogeneity through volatile-char interaction. The combined effects of heat and mass transfer lead to a heterogeneity in pellet char chemical structure.
