Dielectric rod nanoantenna fed by a planar plasmonic waveguide

Erfan Ahmadi et al.

Summary: This paper presents a tapered dielectric rod antenna excited by a folded dipole coplanar waveguide at terahertz frequencies. Two numerical methods are used to obtain the effective refractive index of the plasmonic transmission line and determine the dimensions of the connected gap. The antenna performance is examined for two lengths of the rod, achieving impedance bandwidths, maximum gains, and radiation efficiencies. The dielectric rod nanoantenna operates at all optical communication band frequencies and its structure includes three layers, with a silicon oxide substrate discussed for preventing direct contact.

An enhanced gain of frequency and polarization reconfigurable graphene antenna in terahertz regime

Khatereh Moradi et al.

Summary: This paper presents a patch antenna with a unique shape and feeding at terahertz frequency. By utilizing the properties of graphene, the shape of the patch can be changed to triangle, rectangle, circle, and slotted patches. By changing the shape of the patch, it is possible to simultaneously utilize the features of patches with different shapes in one antenna structure. In addition to the ability to change the resonance frequency and polarization, the antenna also has improved gain through the use of metasurface and proximity coupled feed.

Dual-band terahertz dielectric resonator antenna with graphene loading

Saeed Fakhte et al.

Summary: A dual-band terahertz rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) based on graphene is proposed in this work. The resonant frequencies of the antenna's TE111y and TE113y modes can be tuned by varying the chemical potential of the graphene, which acts as an impedance surface. An approximate formula for obtaining the resonant frequency of the graphene-loaded DRA is also presented for the first time, and it shows good agreement with simulation results.
