From fundamentals to implementation of yield stress for nautical bottom: Case study of the Port of Hamburg

Ahmad Shakeel et al.

Summary: Bulk density is commonly used as a criterion for nautical bottom, but the rheological properties of mud, especially the yield stress, are more closely related to its flow properties and navigability. Due to the varying parameters, a single density value cannot be chosen as the criterion for nautical bottom. Therefore, it is necessary to study the rheological properties of mud.

Physical and Rheological Characteristics of Sediment for Nautical Depth Assessment in Bushehr Port and Its Access Channel

Farzin Samsami et al.

Summary: The goal of this study is to investigate the sediment characteristics and assess the nautical depth in Bushehr Port and its access channel. It was found that water contents and concentration, and clay-size fractions are the most important factors in rheological characteristics of sediment in the study area.
