A stable interface-preserving reinitialization equation for conservative level set method

S. Parameswaran et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel reinitialization approach for the conservative level set method, addressing the drawbacks of existing methods and reducing the numerical computations. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through various test problems, and its ability to deal with complex mesh types is also shown.

An improved HLLC-type solver for incompressible two-phase fluid flows

Sourabh P. Bhat et al.

Summary: This paper presents an HLLC-type contact preserving Riemann solver (called HLLC-VOF-M) for incompressible two-phase flows. The solver takes into account the variation of the volume fraction when calculating the eigenvalues and eigenvectors, and couples the equations for intermediate states and intermediate wave speed with density variation during the pseudo-time evolution of the solution. An interface compression algorithm is used to ensure sharp interfaces. The solver is found to be more robust and accurate compared to previous solvers in various test problems.
