Analysis of magneto-natural-convection flow in a semi-annulus enclosure filled with a micropolar-nanofluid; a computational framework using CVFEM and FVM

Seyyed Masoud Seyyedi et al.

Summary: In this study, the natural-convection flow of a micropolar-nanofluid (Al2O3/water) in a semi-annulus enclosure with an inclined magnetic field was investigated using numerical simulations. The influence of active parameters on magneto-natural convection was analyzed, and the governing equations were solved using CVFEM and Ansys Fluent CFD code. The results showed that the Nusselt number decreases with increasing Hartmann number and material parameter, while it increases with increasing Rayleigh number and particle volume fraction.

Heat transfer intensification of NEPCM-water suspension filled heat sink cavity with notches cooling tubes by applying the electric field

Mehdi Hashemi-Tilehnoee et al.

Summary: In this study, the effects of an electric field on heat transfer, free convection, and entropy generation of NEPCM dissolved in water in a complex inclined chamber were investigated. The results showed that when an electric field was applied, the buoyancy effect became more pronounced with increasing Rayleigh number and electric field, leading to an increase in the average Nusselt number.

Tangent hyperbolic non-Newtonian radiative bioconvection nanofluid flow from a bi-directional stretching surface with electro-magneto-hydrodynamic, Joule heating and modified diffusion effects

J. Prakash et al.

Summary: This paper presents a theoretical study of bioconvection flow of a tangential hyperbolic nanofluid under mutually orthogonal electrical and magnetic fields. Various factors, such as thermal radiation, Joule heating, and heat source/sink effects, are considered. The study also implements non-Fourier and non-Fickian models with thermal and solutal relaxation. The results show the effects of different parameters on the flow properties, such as velocity, density of microorganisms, and temperature.

Electro-magnetohydrodynamics hybrid nanofluid flow with gold and magnesium oxide nanoparticles through vertical parallel plates

M. M. Bhatti et al.

Summary: In this study, the flow of hybrid nanofluid between vertical parallel plates was investigated, taking into account the effect of electro-magnetohydrodynamics. Perturbation strategy was used to obtain analytical solutions for the nonlinear differential equations. The analysis showed that the rate of heat transfer was significantly increased due to the higher thermal conductivity of the hybrid nanofluid. The flow was found to be accelerated with increased buoyancy convection and electric field parameters. The study also highlighted the importance of the nanoparticle volume fraction in affecting the temperature. Comparisons with previous studies were also made. This work has significant applications in biomedical, nuclear, and process engineering for novel thermal duct processing technologies.

Impact of electro-magneto-hydrodynamics in radiative flow of nanofluids between two rotating plates

Hassan Waqas et al.

Summary: This study investigates the use of electro-magneto hydrodynamics to improve heat transfer, which can significantly reduce the size of heat exchangers and enable on-demand heat transfer. The research examines the interaction between magnetic and electric hydrodynamics in a viscous hybrid nanofluid and evaluates thermal efficiency, drag force, and mass flux. Numerical data on Nusselt number, Sherwood number, and drag forces are analyzed to demonstrate the enhanced heat transfer and mass transport of the hybrid nanofluid.

Electrohydrodynamics natural convection flow of nanofluids in a rectangular cavity enclosed by a corrugated bottom surface

Nepal Chandra Roy et al.

Summary: The study investigates the electrohydrodynamic enhancement of laminar natural convection nanofluid flow in a closed cavity with a wavy bottom wall. Results show that the electric field significantly influences the flow field within the cavity, with the number of convective cells being dependent on the number of waves and their amplitude. Additionally, optimal heat transfer is achieved for Ag-H2O nanofluid among a range of electrically charged nanoparticles tested.

Electro-thermo-convection in a differentially heated square cavity under arbitrary unipolar injection of ions

R. Deepak Selvakumar et al.

Summary: In the case of electro-thermo-convection at different injection strengths, the flow transitions from a steady two-cell flow to a periodic two-cell flow, and eventually evolves into a chaotic flow with multiple cells. Heat transfer rates and maximum velocity are directly proportional to the electric Rayleigh number T.
