Type of intracranial hemorrhage after endovascular stroke treatment: association with functional outcome

Wouter van der Steen et al.

Summary: Through data analysis, it was found that ICH after endovascular treatment is associated with worse functional outcome, and both asymptomatic and symptomatic ICH are associated with worse functional outcome.

Susceptibility-weighted Imaging: Technical Essentials and Clinical Neurologic Applications

Sven Haller et al.

Summary: Susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) has evolved to improve the depiction of various findings in neuroimaging, including microbleeds, iron deposition, and abnormal vascular structures. It also helps identify features not visible on standard images, such as nigrosome 1 in Parkinson disease and dementia with Lewy bodies.

Radiologic Patterns of Intracranial Hemorrhage and Clinical Outcome after Endovascular Treatment in Acute Ischemic Stroke: Results from the ESCAPE-NA1 Trial

Johanna M. Ospel et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the impact of intracranial hemorrhage and hemorrhage severity on outcomes after endovascular stroke treatment. It found that approximately one-third of participants experienced some degree of intracranial hemorrhage, with a graded association between radiologic hemorrhage severity and outcomes. Hemorrhagic infarction was not associated with outcome, while parenchymal hematoma was strongly linked to poor outcomes.
