Finite-time and sampled-data synchronization of complex dynamical networks subject to average dwell-time switching signal

Nallappan Gunasekaran et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the finite-time synchronization problem of a class of switched complex dynamical networks with distributed coupling delays using sampled-data control. The dynamical model with coupling delays is analyzed in detail, and the sampling system is transformed into a continuous time-delay system using an input delay technique. Unique and less conservative criteria for exponential stability are obtained using the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), and integral inequality. Sufficient criteria are derived using the average dwell-time method and determine the finite-time boundedness of CDNs with switching signal. The proposed conditions can be represented in the form of LMIs. Numerical examples demonstrate the feasibility of the suggested strategy.

Neural-Network-Based Control With Dynamic Event-Triggered Mechanisms Under DoS Attacks and Applications in Load Frequency Control

Xueli Wang et al.

Summary: This paper focuses on the supplementary control based on adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) for a discrete-time networked system with dynamic event-triggered mechanisms and Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. A neural network (NN)-based observer is designed to estimate system states and a policy iteration algorithm with an actor-critic structure is developed to implement the supplementary ADP controller. The effectiveness of the approach is demonstrated through an application in load frequency control of power systems.

Blinking coupling enhances network synchronization

Fatemeh Parastesh et al.

Summary: This paper studies the synchronization of a network with linear diffusive coupling that blinks between the variables periodically. The stability of the synchronous solution is shown to depend only on the averaged coupling and not on the instantaneous coupling. The effect of the blinking period on network synchronization is examined using the Hindmarsh-Rose model. The results demonstrate that decreasing the blinking period reduces the required coupling strength for synchrony and leads to enhanced synchronization compared to single-variable coupling.

Synchronization of nonidentical complex dynamical networks with unknown disturbances via observer-based sliding mode control q

Yongshun Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper proposes an observer-based sliding mode control scheme for globally asymptotical synchronization of nonidentical complex dynamical networks in the presence of time delays and unknown disturbances. The designed sliding mode controller ensures the reachability of the integral sliding surface and overcomes the influence of disturbances in the control channel. Sufficient conditions for synchronization are derived using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals and linear matrix inequality technique, with an example demonstrating the applicability and effectiveness of the method.

Dissipative sampled-data synchronization for spatiotemporal complex dynamical networks with semi-Markovian switching topologies

Renzhi Zhang et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the synchronization problem of spatiotemporal complex dynamical networks with switching topological structure, modeled by a semiMarkov process. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and utilizing the Bessel-Legendre inequality, two less conservative synchronization conditions are established, and a sample-data controller is developed. Three examples are presented to demonstrate the validity and superiority of the developed methods.
