Coherent Reaction between Molecular and Atomic Bose-Einstein Condensates: Integrable Model

Rajesh K. Malla et al.

Summary: This article investigates a model describing the conversion between ultracold bosonic atoms and molecules through a stimulated reaction. By solving the model equations, the study finds a dynamic phase transition in the reaction efficiency dependent on the transition rate. For the process of molecular dissociation, if the atomic modes have a linear energy dispersion, the emerging phase may have a thermalized energy distribution of noninteracting bosons defined by the transition rate.

Precision test of statistical dynamics with state-to-state ultracold chemistry

Yu Liu et al.

Summary: Chemical reactions at ultralow temperatures provide an ideal platform for testing quantum chemistry and scattering theories. By reporting the full product state distribution for the reaction 2KRb -> K-2 + Rb-2, this study demonstrates experimental control over initial quantum degrees of freedom and reveals deviations from statistical theory in the state-pairs observed. The completeness of the measurements sets a benchmark for advancing quantum dynamics calculations.

Transition from an atomic to a molecular Bose-Einstein condensate

Zhendong Zhang et al.

Summary: A Bose-Einstein condensate of molecules is produced by pairing atoms in an atomic condensate; this transition is the bosonic analog of the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer superfluid to BEC crossover in Fermi gases.
