Inhibiting creep in nanograined alloys with stable grain boundary networks

B. B. Zhang et al.

Summary: This study reports a new method of inhibiting high-temperature creep by using stable grain boundary networks. The plastic deformation of high-density grain boundaries forms stable networks that effectively suppress diffusional creep processes at high temperatures. We achieved a higher creep resistance compared to conventional superalloys.
