Capacitance-voltage characteristics of Pt/hBN/WSe2 metal-insulator-semiconductor capacitor doped by charge-transfer process

HoHyun Im et al.

Summary: In this study, a Pt/hBN/WSe2 low-dimensional capacitor was fabricated, and a WOX layer was formed through UV/ozone treatment. The capacitance-voltage (C-V) behavior exhibited ambipolar transport characteristics in the pristine condition, and a typical p-type behavior after p-doping. The controllability of the charge-transfer doping method was confirmed through analysis of different doping concentrations.

Growth, domain structure, and atomic adsorption sites of hBN on the Ni(111) surface

Miriam Raths et al.

Summary: The atomically thin insulator hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) is crucial in decoupling functional materials from reactive surfaces, with its structural properties on Ni(111) surface being quantified in this study. It is found that hBN predominantly grows in two epitaxial domains rotated by 60 degrees, showing identical adsorption heights and similar chemical interaction strength with the Ni(111) surface. The different azimuthal orientations of these domains originate from different adsorption sites of N and B, highlighting the importance of atomic adsorption configuration in mesoscopic domain structures of two-dimensional materials on highly reactive surfaces.

The electron-phonon coupling constant for single-layer graphene on metal substrates determined from He atom scattering

Giorgio Benedek et al.

Summary: Recent theory demonstrates the value of the electron-phonon coupling strength lambda can be extracted directly from thermal attenuation of helium atom scattering reflectivity. This theory is extended to multivalley semimetal systems and applied to graphene on different metal substrates and graphite, showing that lambda rapidly increases with decreasing graphene-substrate binding strength.
