The Faraday Rotation Measure Grid of the LOFAR Two-metre Sky Survey: Data Release 2

S. P. O'Sullivan et al.

Summary: A Faraday rotation measure (RM) catalogue has been created using LOFAR Two-metre Sky Survey (LoTSS) data, containing 2461 high-precision RM values across 5720 deg(2) of sky. The linear polarization and RM properties were derived using RM synthesis, with a polarized source areal number density of 0.43 deg(-2). The catalogue provides important data for studying cosmic magnetism, with minimal Faraday complexity and reliable host galaxy identifications.

Radio pulsar beam geometry down to the 100-MHz band: 76 additional sources within the Arecibo Sky☆

Joanna Rankin et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes the emission beam structure of 76 'B'-named pulsars within the Arecibo sky. The analyses are based on observations made with the Arecibo Telescope and other observatories. The goal is to build quantitative geometric emission-beam models and interpret the Arecibo pulsar population in the context of the entire population of 'B' pulsars.

Radio pulsar emission-beam geometry at low frequency: LOFAR High-Band Survey sources studied using Arecibo at 1.4 GHz and 327 MHz

Haley Wahl et al.

Summary: This paper continues the study of radio pulsar emission-beam configurations, focusing on 133 more recently discovered pulsars. By applying the core/double-cone beam model, the study found that the beam structure of most pulsars remained largely constant, with some variations attributed to different component spectra and varying beam sizes. The results have important implications for understanding the characteristics of these pulsars.

Radio pulsar beam geometry at lower frequencies: bright sources outside the Arecibo sky

Joanna Rankin

Summary: We present an analysis and modeling of pulsar emission beams to examine the geometry and physics of pulsars. We used two populations of well-studied pulsars and assessed the efficacy of the core/double-cone emission beam model. The study found that most pulsar radio emission beams can be accurately modeled with two concentric conal beams and a core beam at 1 GHz. The properties of pulsar emission beams depend on the plasma excitation location and spin-down energy.

Pulsar emission beam geometry of radio broad-band Arecibo sources☆

Timothy Olszanski et al.

Summary: In this paper, we analyze and model the radio pulsar emission beams with the aim of studying the geometry and physics of the pulsar beams across a broad range of radio frequencies. We focus on a group of well-studied pulsars in the Arecibo sky that have been extensively observed at frequencies ranging from below 100 MHz to 4.5 GHz. By using the core/double-cone emission beam model, we analyze the frequency evolution of these pulsars based on published profiles. We also take into account scattering time-scales to understand the intrinsic and scatter broadening of the pulse profile in low-frequency observations. Finally, we discuss the populational trends of core/conal class profiles with respect to intrinsic parameters, showing that core and conal dominated profiles cluster into two distinct populations, supporting the idea of an evolution in pair-formation geometries responsible for core/conal emission and other effects.

The MeerTime Pulsar Timing Array: A census of emission properties and timing potential

R. Spiewak et al.

Summary: MeerTime is a five-year survey project that aims to time pulsars with MeerKAT. Through an initial census of 189 pulsars visible to MeerKAT, we have obtained various parameters that provide important resources for population studies. Currently, MeerTime has made significant achievements and is of great significance for global efforts to detect the gravitational wave background.

The thousand-pulsar-array programme on MeerKAT IV: Polarization properties of young, energetic pulsars

M. Serylak et al.

Summary: This study observed 35 high spin-down energy radio pulsars and analyzed their polarization profiles and geometry using the MeerKAT telescope. The research suggests that some of these pulsars may also emit gamma-rays, but further improvements in radio timing are necessary for high-energy detection. Additionally, the study discusses the relationship between radio profile width, high-energy detectability, spin-down energy, radio polarization fraction, and the potential implications for gamma-ray emission.
