Integrated spatially resolved metabolomics and network toxicology to investigate the hepatotoxicity mechanisms of component D of Polygonum multiflorum Thunb

Hai-Yan Jiang et al.

Summary: The study comprehensively identified the hepatotoxicity mechanisms of PM-D through an integrated spatially resolved metabolomics and network toxicology strategy, unveiling key targets, pathways, and metabolic changes associated with PM-D-induced liver injury. The findings provide a theoretical basis for understanding the toxicity of PM and its safe clinical use.

Potentiation of flutamide-induced hepatotoxicity in mice by Xian-Ling-Gu-Bao through induction of CYP1A2

Yannan Ding et al.

Summary: The study found that the combined treatment of Xian-Ling-Gu-Bao and flutamide exacerbated flutamide-induced hepatotoxicity, possibly by inducing CYP1A2 activity to enhance the bioactivation of flutamide, leading to the generation of FLU-NAC conjugate and oxidative stress.

Rapid identification, isolation, and evaluation on anti-neuroinflammatory activity of limonoids derivatives from the root bark of Dictamnus dasycarpus

Peng Gao et al.

Summary: A total of 49 limonoids derivatives, including three new ones, were isolated from the root bark of Dictamnus dasycarpus and tested for anti-inflammatory activities. The newly identified compound, DAS, showed strong anti-inflammatory effects by suppressing NF-κB signaling pathways and inhibiting the release of inflammatory cytokines. Our results suggest that obacunone derivatives play an important role in the anti-inflammatory effects of Baixianpi.

Identification and characterization of quinoline alkaloids from the root bark of Dictamnus dasycarpus and their metabolites in rat plasma, urine and feces by UPLC/Qtrap-MS and UPLC/Q-TOF-MS

Kun Chang et al.

Summary: This study comprehensively analyzed the quinoline alkaloids in the root bark of Dictamnus dasycarpus, identifying a total of 73 quinoline alkaloids, including substances newly discovered in the plant. A total of 98 BXP-related constituents were detected in rat plasma, urine and feces, revealing their metabolic pathways. This integrated strategy provides valuable insights for further research on the pharmacological effects and potential toxic substances of BXP.
