Constructing two-dimensional lamellar monometallic carbon nanocomposites by sodium chloride hard template for lightweight microwave scattering and absorption

Junjie Pan et al.

Summary: The two-dimensional lamellar Co/C (NCC) and Fe/C (NFC) nanocomposites prepared using a sodium chloride hard template exhibit higher degree of graphitization and dielectric loss compared to three-dimensional bulk composites. These nanocomposites show excellent microwave absorption properties, with NFC achieving an effective absorption bandwidth of 5.4 GHz. The nanocomposites also demonstrate excellent electromagnetic wave scattering and absorption, with NFC having a small RCS value of only -8.098 dBm(2) under vertical incidence.

Factors Affecting Hydrogen Adsorption in Metal-Organic Frameworks: A Short Review

Vladimir Zelenak et al.

Summary: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) show promise for hydrogen storage, with reversible and high-rate hydrogen adsorption as main benefits, but operation at very low temperatures as a drawback. Factors affecting hydrogen adsorption in MOFs are studied, and nanoconfinement of metal hydrides inside MOFs is proposed as a new approach for hydrogen storage. Incorporating metal nanoparticles in MOFs for future prospects as nanoscaffolds and/or H-2 sorbents is summarized.
