The Ultrashort Spike-Ring Interaction in Substituted Iron Maiden Molecules

Miroslaw Jablonski

Summary: This article investigates the influence of significant charge enrichment or depletion of the benzene ring on the characteristics of the ultrashort C-XMIDLINE HORIZONTAL ELLIPSIS pi contact in iron maiden molecules. It is shown that, despite such extremely electron-donating or electron-accepting properties, the considered iron maiden molecules surprisingly reveal quite high resistance to changes in electronic properties.

The physical nature of the ultrashort spike-ring interaction in iron maiden molecules

Miroslaw Jablonski

Summary: This article presents an in-depth theoretical study of 16 'iron maiden' molecules, showing that the substitution of H -> F -> Cl -> Br leads to expansion of the molecule and shorter chains have more pronounced effects. The study also reveals the multi-center, stabilizing and covalent nature of the XMIDLINE HORIZONTAL ELLIPSISpi interaction in the 'iron maiden' molecules and the role of spatial hindrance in the molecule's structure.

Determining Repulsion in Cyclophane Cages

Miroslaw Jablonski

Summary: This article introduces a new type of superphane derivative for studying the interactions between guests and hosts in endohedral complexes. The experiments show that in the majority of cases, the trapped atoms spontaneously escape from the cyclophane cage to form exohedral complexes. However, only the smallest He atom forms endohedral complexes, and these interactions are nonbonding and repulsive.

A Review of Crystalline Multibridged Cyclophane Cages: Synthesis, Their Conformational Behavior, and Properties

Xing-Xing Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper reviews the most stable conformation of crystalline three-dimensional cyclophane achieved by self-assembling based on changing the type of aromatic compound or regulating the type and number of bridging groups. The study found that [3(n)] cyclophanes have stronger donor capability and could potentially serve as a new type of electron donor for innovative electron conductive materials.

Summary: This article examines the properties of 30 carbene-ZnX2 complexes, focusing on the relationship between R and X types and sizes, zinc bond strength, and torsional angle. Despite diverse R and X groups, the zinc bond length dCMIDLINE HORIZONTAL ELLIPSISZn has a narrow range, while the D0 value has a wide range.

Does the Presence of a Bond Path Really Mean Interatomic Stabilization? The Case of the Ng@Superphane (Ng = He, Ne, Ar, and Kr) Endohedral Complexes

Miroslaw Jablonski

Summary: The study demonstrates that the inclusion of noble gas atoms inside superphane molecules leads to swelling, which is energetically unfavorable due to destabilizing interactions. Additionally, it is shown that the presence of a bond path in the molecular graph does not necessarily prove interatomic stabilization.
