The endocytosis of nano-Pt into non-small cell lung cancer H1299 cells and intravital therapeutic effect in vivo

Zhongqing Xiao et al.

Summary: In this study, platinum nanoclusters were used for optical imaging and demonstrated targeted antitumor activity with low systemic toxicity. The research revealed that the nanoclusters entered non-small cell lung cancer cells predominantly through macropinocytosis and clathrin-dependent endocytosis pathway, showing significant antitumor efficiency and targeting properties. These findings suggest the great potential of platinum nanoclusters for clinical diagnosis and therapy of non-small cell lung cancer.

Biomarking and Induction of Apoptosis in Ovarian Cancer Using Bifunctional Polyethyleneimine-Caged Platinum Nanoclusters

Mengjun Zhang et al.

Summary: Ovarian cancer, ranking eighth in terms of tumor incidence, has the highest mortality rate among all gynecological tumors. Platinum-based drugs are commonly used in its treatment, but resistance and toxicity limit their effectiveness. In this study, bifunctional ultrafine polyethyleneimine caged platinum nanoclusters (PEI-Pt NCs) were developed to overcome the challenges associated with platinum drugs. Results showed that PEI-Pt NCs can inhibit proliferation and migration, as well as induce apoptosis in ovarian cancer cells.

Deficiency of kin17 Facilitates Apoptosis of Cervical Cancer Cells by Modulating Caspase 3, PARP, and Bcl-2 Family Proteins

Bingsen Su et al.

Summary: This study found that knockdown of KIN17 gene can facilitate apoptosis of cervical cancer cells by targeting caspase 3, PARP, and Bcl-2 family proteins. In addition, KIN17 can regulate cancer cell apoptosis through the mitochondrial pathway and could be used as a novel therapeutic target for the regulation of cell apoptosis in cervical cancer.

Cisplatin for cancer therapy and overcoming chemoresistance

Ranmali Ranasinghe et al.

Summary: Cisplatin is a leading chemotherapy drug for cancer treatment, but its acute toxicity remains a major challenge. While efforts are ongoing to discover more effective drugs, nothing has surpassed the benefits of cisplatin so far. Oxaliplatin is considered superior in colorectal cancer, but cisplatin still has a wide application in treating gynaecological cancers.
