A Cocktail of Polyherbal Bioactive Compounds and Regular Mobility Training as Senolytic Approaches in Age-dependent Alzheimer's: the In Silico Analysis, Lifestyle Intervention in Old Age

Fatemeh Hajibabaie et al.

Summary: Alzheimer's disease is a global concern, and this study used machine learning and artificial intelligence to analyze microarray datasets to identify ncRNAs and coding RNAs linked to its development. By designing hub genes and predicting microRNAs and LncRNA, potential protein networks and signaling pathways in aging and Alzheimer's were identified. Traditional herbal medicines and bioactive compounds were also investigated for their effects on hub proteins. The study suggests a fusion of senolytic herbal ligands as an alternative therapy for dementia and provides new insights into monitoring strategies and therapeutic approaches for Alzheimer's.

Exploration of a Brain-Liver-Communication-Related Mechanism Involved in the Experimental Perimenopausal Depression Rat Model using Chaihu-Shugan-San

Qiliang Chen et al.

Summary: Existing research suggests the involvement of a brain-liver-communication-related mechanism in the occurrence of depression. In this study, the researchers investigated the effects of Chaihu-Shugan-San (CSS), a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, on perimenopausal depression. The results showed that CSS treatment improved the behavioral performance and liver tissue morphology of the rats with perimenopausal depression. This effect may be mediated by the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.

Cross Brain-Gut Analysis Highlighted Hub Genes and LncRNA Networks Differentially Modified During Leucine Consumption and Endurance Exercise in Mice with Depression-Like Behaviors

Navid Abedpoor et al.

Summary: Depression is a mood disorder that can impair the brain-gut axis. This study found that lncRNAs profile and Kdr/Vegf alpha/Pten/Bdnf interactions network in the hippocampus and ileum could be important in the brain-gut axis. KDR was identified as a potential target for treating major depressive disorder. Exercise and leucine were found to improve the brain-gut axis in mice with depression-like behaviors. The findings suggest that lncRNAs profiles could serve as biomarkers for diagnosis and prognosis, and exercise + leucine could be a practical approach to improve depression.

Changes in the regional homogeneity of resting-state magnetic resonance imaging in perimenopausal women

Min Liu et al.

Summary: This preliminary study suggests that abnormal spontaneous activities of multiple brain regions during resting state have already been altered in perimenopausal women. These alterations may be related to emotional regulation deficits and cognitive impairments, potentially representing the neural mechanism underlying the perimenopausal period.
