Adsorption characteristics of Cu2+ species on cerussite surfaces and implications for sulfidization flotation

Qian Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, the adsorption characteristics of Cu2+ species on cerussite surfaces and its influence on sulfidization flotation were systematically investigated. The findings showed that low concentrations of Cu2+ had little effect on flotation recovery, while high concentrations of Cu2+ decreased the recovery. Cu2+ covered the mineral surfaces and affected the adsorption of Na2S and xanthate.

Interaction mechanism of copper ions with the surface of sulfidized malachite and its response to flotation

Han Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the interaction mechanism of copper ions with the surface of sulfidized malachite and its effect on flotation. The results showed that an appropriate concentration of copper ions enhanced the hydrophobicity and recovery of sulfidized malachite, while high concentration treatment decreased them. Copper ion modification reduced collector consumption and improved the reaction activity and sulfidization product activity of the mineral surface. However, high copper-ion concentration led to the formation of copper hydroxide complexes and decreased the mineral surface reaction activity.

Effect of lead ions on the sulfidization flotation of smithsonite using sodium butyl xanthate as a collector

Bin Luo et al.

Summary: This study confirmed that lead ions have a promoting effect on the sulfidization flotation of smithsonite and investigated the activation mechanism of lead ions. Lead ion activation increases the adsorption activity on the surface of smithsonite, thereby significantly improving the recovery of smithsonite.

Flotation separation of sphalerite from galena using eco-friendly and efficient depressant pullulan

Yanfang Cui et al.

Summary: In this study, Pullulan was found to be an effective depressant for sphalerite through experimental measurements and surface property analysis. It was able to prevent the adsorption of collector on the surface of sphalerite. The findings of this study are significant for the development of environmentally friendly and efficient ore separation methods.

Differential adsorption of hydrolytic polymaleic anhydride as an eco-friendly depressant for the selective flotation of apatite from dolomite

Bin Yang et al.

Summary: This study investigated the behavior of hydrolytic polymaleic anhydride (HPMA) as a depressant for dolomite in the flotation separation of dolomite from apatite. The results showed that HPMA effectively depressed dolomite while minimally affecting apatite, due to its selective adsorption at the dolomite/water interface. The strong interaction between HPMA and dolomite enhanced the chemisorption of HPMA onto dolomite surface, preventing the adsorption of sodium oleate (NaOl) and allowing for the successful recovery of apatite.
