Ruthenium doped Cu-MOF as an efficient sensing platform for the voltammetric detection of ciprofloxacin

M. V. Varsha et al.

Summary: An electrochemical sensing platform based on ruthenium doped copper-metal organic framework (CuMOF) was constructed for the sensitive detection of ciprofloxacin antibiotic. The synthesis of parent Cu-MOF was achieved using a facile room temperature method, and the structural features and morphology of the synthesized MOF materials were analyzed using various characterization techniques. The incorporation of ruthenium into the MOF resulted in a synergistic effect, making the mixed-valent MOF a promising candidate for sensing studies. The developed sensor exhibited a wide linear dynamic range, low limit of detection, and excellent selectivity, stability, and repeatability, making it suitable for real sample analysis.
