Low-cost voltammetric sensor based on reduced graphene oxide anchored on platinum nanoparticles for robust determination of Favipiravir in real samples

Summary: This research presents a modified glassy carbon electrode with platinum nanoparticles anchored on reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite as a conductive modifier (Pt@rGO/ GCE) for the detection of Favipiravir (FAV), an anti-coronavirus drug. The nanocomposite was characterized using various techniques and the square wave voltammetry (SWV) method was used to determine FAV in real samples. The electrode demonstrated a wide linear concentration range and a low detection limit, as well as exceptional selectivity and repeatability in the presence of interferences.

Summary: In this study, a self-assembly Pd-Schiff base complex was synthesized and used as an electrochemical sensor for paracetamol detection. By optimizing the ligand structure of Schiff base, the electrocatalytic activity of the Pd-Schiff base complex towards paracetamol was enhanced. Characterization of the prepared metal complex was performed using different techniques, and it was demonstrated that the modified electrode had high sensitivity for paracetamol detection.

A new ultrasensitive platform based on f-GCNFs@nano-CeO2 core-shell nanocomposite for electrochemical sensing of oxidative stress biomarker 3-nitrotyrosine in presence of uric acid and tyrosine

Summary: In this work, a composite material consisting of functionalized graphitized carbon nanofibers (f-GCNFs) core and nano-sized CeO2 shell was synthesized and used for sensor construction. The prepared platform showed high electro-catalytic activity and selectivity, and exhibited excellent sensitivity and dynamic range for the detection of nitrotyrosine (NTyr) as an oxidative stress biomarker. The fabricated sensor also demonstrated good selectivity, reproducibility, and long-term stability, and showed excellent recovery of NTyr in spiked human serum, urine, and saliva samples.

Summary: We introduce a sensitive, fast, and straightforward spectrofluorometric method for the estimation of remdesivir and favipiravir. The method is based on the first derivative synchronous spectrofluorimetry approach and allows for accurate measurement of the concentration of these drugs. The method was validated and showed no significant difference compared to the comparison methods.

Summary: Favipiravir is an antiviral drug used for treating pulmonary infections and lung inflammation in COVID-19 patients. An electrode modified with ILCs and CNTs has been developed for sensitive and selective detection of Favipiravir in human serum and medications. The electrode allows for the preconcentration of the drug on its surface, with detection and quantification limits for Favipiravir in blood serum of 0.0161 and 0.119 μmol L-1 respectively. The sensor is also effective for concurrent determination of multiple drugs used for virus treatment or other chronic diseases.
