The clinical importance of high-sensitivity cardiac troponin measurements for risk prediction in non-cardiac surgery

Sjur H. Tveit et al.

Summary: By measuring cardiac troponin I and T with high-sensitivity assays, high-risk patients for perioperative myocardial injury can be identified, which is closely associated with adverse postoperative outcomes. However, challenges exist in the application of cardiac troponins as biomarkers during perioperative screening.

The interplay between T lymphocytes and macrophages in myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury

Dan Li et al.

Summary: Acute myocardial infarction is a significant global concern, causing immense health and economic burden. The modulation of immune cells, such as monocytes/macrophages, neutrophils, endothelial cells, and T cells, plays a crucial role in the inflammatory response during myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury. Understanding the crosstalk between T lymphocytes and macrophages in MI/RI can help identify potential targets for intervention and propose strategies for treatment and prevention.

A Review on Multiple I-III-VI Quantum Dots: Preparation and Enhanced Luminescence Properties

Ting Chen et al.

Summary: I-III-VI type quantum dots (QDs) possess unique optoelectronic properties and can be continuously tuned in the visible to near-infrared light region. They are promising candidates to replace traditional binary QDs in various applications due to their advantages of low toxicity and avoidance of heavy metals and toxic anions. However, the presence of multiple metal ions in the QDs leads to different reaction rates and results in defects and poor fluorescence properties. This can be improved through metal ion doping and surface coating techniques. This review introduces the luminous mechanism of I-III-VI type QDs, summarizes recent synthesis methods, improvement strategies, and primary applications in the field of optoelectronics, and discusses the challenges and future perspectives.
