Vibration characteristics of rotor-bearing system with angular misalignment and cage fracture: Simulation and experiment

Pengfei Wang et al.

Summary: This paper studies the vibration characteristics of cage fracture faults in rolling bearings from both simulation and experimental aspects. It finds that when cage fracture occurs, the system amplitude increases and obvious impact vibration characteristics appear, and the vibration energy gradually concentrates to low-frequency vibration. These results provide important reference for the identification and diagnosis of rolling bearing misalignment and cage fracture.

Effects of three types of bearing misalignments on dynamic characteristics of planetary gear set-rotor system

Pengfei Wang et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes the effects of axial, radial, and tilt misalignments on the dynamic characteristics of the planetary gear set-rotor system. It proposes a nonlinear restoring force model for ball bearings under different misalignment conditions. The dynamic model of the planetary gear set is established using the lumped parameter method, and the rotor is modeled using the Timoshenko beam element. The results show that misalignments reduce vibration amplitude but increase load-bearing area and contact load. Different types of misalignments also affect the varying compliance frequency amplitude of the bearing. The research provides a theoretical basis for fault diagnosis and identification of bearing misalignment in complex rotating machinery systems.

Dynamic characteristics of ball bearing-coupling-rotor system with angular misalignment fault

Pengfei Wang et al.

Summary: The rotor misalignment fault is a common fault in rotating machinery systems, which has a significant impact on the dynamic characteristics of the system, especially in the low-speed range. Bearing misalignment should not be ignored and needs to be considered in modeling. Misalignment causes periodic changes in bearing contact angle, radial clearance, and ball rotational speed, as well as increasing the critical speed and axial vibration of the system.
