Non-contact PPG signal and heart rate estimation with multi-hierarchical convolutional network

Bin Li et al.

Summary: This study proposes an efficient multi-hierarchical spatio-temporal convolutional network for quickly estimating remote physiological (rPPG) signal and heart rate (HR) from face video clips. The network extracts facial color distribution characteristics using a low-level face feature generation module, and employs a 3D spatio-temporal convolution module and a multi-hierarchical feature fusion module to enhance the spatio-temporal correlation of multi-channel features. The heart rate estimation results demonstrate that the proposed network outperforms state-of-the-art methods on three datasets, achieving mean absolute errors (MAE) of 2.15, 5.57, and 1.75 bpm respectively.

Noninvasive detection and analysis of human globulin based on dynamic spectrum

Gang Li et al.

Summary: Noninvasive detection of blood components is an ideal and effective method for preventing and detecting clinical diseases. This study improves the signal-to-noise ratio in all aspects of dynamic spectrum data processing to achieve noninvasive detection of globulin. Through reasonable pretreatment, extraction, quality evaluation, and variable screening, the valid information of the spectrum is maximized. The results show that the model established by dynamic spectrum treated by this method has good predictive performance for globulin.

Validity of Ultra-Short-Term HRV Analysis Using PPG-A Preliminary Study

Aline Taoum et al.

Summary: Continuous measurement of heart rate variability using wearable devices is important for monitoring physiological status and preventing diseases. This study compared HRV features measured by a commercial device (Bora Band) and reference electrocardiography (ECG), and validated the use of ultra-short-term HRV as a substitute for short-term HRV features. The results showed agreement between PPG and ECG recordings for most HRV features, and the Bora Band provided valid and reliable HRV measurements in both short and ultra-short-term recordings.
