Analysis and Design of a Uniform Magnetic Field Coil With a Magnetic Shield Based on an Improved Analytical Model

Yinxi Jin et al.

Summary: This article presents the design and analysis of a uniform magnetic field coil with a magnetic shield to eliminate the geomagnetic field and surrounding magnetic noises. An improved analytical model, considering the noninfinite shield thickness, is developed based on the Biot-Savart law and the traditional images method. The accuracy of the model is verified using the finite-element method, and design criteria for achieving a large uniform field area are provided.

A nanocrystalline shield for high precision co-magnetometer operated in spin-exchange relaxation-free regime

Yang Fu et al.

Summary: This paper presents a low-noise nanocrystalline magnetic shield for SERF co-magnetometer. The transfer function model of the co-magnetometer to transverse magnetic noise was established, and the magnetic noise characteristics of nanocrystalline and other shielding materials were analyzed. Experimental results show that the nanocrystalline shield significantly decreases the signal noise and bias instability of the SERF co-magnetometer.

A novel low-noise Mu-metal magnetic shield with winding shape

Danyue Ma et al.

Summary: A novel magnetic shield structure with a winding shape was proposed in this study to increase shielding coefficient and reduce magnetic noise. Simulation results showed a 123% increase in DC shielding coefficient and a 47% decrease in magnetic noise compared to conventional structures. Experimental measurements confirmed the superiority of the proposed structure.

Effect of gaps on magnetic noise of cylindrical ferrite shield

Jixi Lu et al.

Summary: The study on multi-annular ferrite shields showed that as the gap width increases, axial magnetic noise decreases while radial magnetic noise increases. Although gaps may increase radial magnetic noise, this detrimental effect can be significantly suppressed by using ferrite material with lower permeability and reducing gap width.
