The solitary wave, kink and anti-kink solutions coexist at the same speed in a perturbed nonlinear Schrodinger equation

Hang Zheng et al.

Summary: The persistence of traveling wave solutions of a perturbed higher order nonlinear Schrodinger equation with distributed delay is investigated using geometric singular perturbation theory. The coexistence of solitary wave, kink, and anti-kink solutions at the same speed c is proven by combining the Melnikov method and bifurcation analysis. Interestingly, a new type of traveling wave solution with crest, trough, and kink (anti-kink) is discovered. Numerical simulations are performed to validate the theoretical findings.

Persistence of kink and anti-kink wave solutions for the perturbed double sine-Gordon equation

Huiyang Zhang et al.

Summary: Based on the geometric singular perturbation theory and the Melnikov method, this article studies the persistence of kink and anti-kink wave solutions in the perturbed double sine-Gordon equation. The explicit expression of the Melnikov function is provided. Furthermore, the monotonicity of the period function for the unperturbed double sine-Gordon equation is investigated.

Solving time fractional Keller-Segel type diffusion equations with symmetry analysis, power series method, invariant subspace method and q-homotopy analysis method

Xiaoyu Cheng et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the solutions and conservation laws of Keller-Segel type time fractional diffusion equations. Lie symmetries and similarity reductions are used to derive the solutions and power series solutions. Conservation laws are discussed using the generalized Noether theorem. Analytical and numerical solutions are established for initial value problems using the invariant subspace method and q-homotopy analysis method.

Geometric singular perturbation analysis to Camassa-Holm Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation

Zengji Du et al.

Summary: In this study, a singularly perturbed Camassa-Holm equation with Kuramoto-Sivashinsky perturbation is analyzed using methods of geometric singular perturbation theory. The persistence of smooth and peaked solitons is studied, and it is found that the presence or absence of linear dispersion determines whether these solitons will persist under singular perturbation. The behavior of the system differs when there is linear dispersion compared to when there is none.

Boundedness and asymptotic behavior in a Keller-Segel(-Navier)-Stokes system with indirect signal production

Feng Dai et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the Keller-Segel(-Navier)-Stokes system with indirect signal production and provides a proof for the existence and convergence of globally bounded classical solutions under certain conditions. The findings of this study are significant for a better understanding of the behavior of this system.

Keller-Segel Chemotaxis Models: A Review

Gurusamy Arumugam et al.

Summary: In this paper, we review and discuss important methods and blow-up criteria for analyzing solutions of Keller-Segel chemotaxis models, discussing results on global existence, boundedness, and blow-up of solutions to different types of models. The numerical analysis of these models is still in its early stages, with known results on numerical methods and open problems in the field also highlighted.

Exact minimum speed of traveling waves in a Keller-Segel model

Jason J. Bramburger

Summary: In this study, a Keller-Segel model with logistic growth dynamics is presented for the study of chemotactic pattern formation. The existence of a minimum wave speed is proven, where the model exhibits nonnegative traveling wave solutions above this speed and none below. The exact value of the minimum wave speed is provided for all biologically relevant parameter values, strengthening recent results in a restricted parameter regime.

Traveling pulse solutions of a generalized Keller-Segel system with small cell diffusion via a geometric approach

Zengji Du et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the existence of traveling pulse solutions in one-dimensional generalized Keller-Segel system by using the dynamical systems approach, specifically based on geometric singular perturbation theory and Poincare-Bendixson theorem. The dynamics of the system is analyzed using geometric singular perturbation theory, an invariant region for the associated traveling wave equation is sought, and then Poincare-Bendixson theorem is applied to show the existence of traveling pulse solutions. The main results are illustrated with two examples presented as applications.

Traveling pulses in a coupled FitzHugh-Nagumo equation

Jianhe Shen et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates the existence of traveling waves for a coupled FitzHugh-Nagumo (FHN) equation within a specific parameter range, and introduces a new approach to prove the existence of traveling waves in a wider parameter range. It also highlights the differences in the characteristics of traveling waves in different parameter ranges.
