A new analysis method for evaluating bacterial growth with microplate readers

Venkata Rao Krishnamurthi et al.

Summary: The article introduces a method based on the time derivatives of optical density and fluorescence to overcome barriers in evaluating bacterial growth with microplate readers. By using models and simulations, the relationship between bacterial growth, the number of fluorescent proteins, and their time derivatives were studied. The method was successfully applied to extract bacterial growth behavior and understand the effects of factors such as silver ions and silver nanoparticles.

Bacterial Biofilm Inhibition: A Focused Review on Recent Therapeutic Strategies for Combating the Biofilm Mediated Infections

Ramanathan Srinivasan et al.

Summary: Biofilm formation is a major concern in various sectors, with bacterial biofilm posing a persistent threat in healthcare due to increased mortality and morbidity. Bacteria can form biofilms on various substrates, exhibiting significant resistance to external attacks. Developing novel therapeutic strategies to combat biofilm-mediated infections has garnered significant attention in recent research.

Phosphorylated xanthan gum-Ag(I) complex as antibacterial viscosity enhancer for eye drops formulation

Gemma Leone et al.

Summary: The phosphorylated xanthan gum-Ag(I) complex developed in this study has pH and osmolality values close to that of human tears, with high transparency, proper refractive index, and viscosity. Additionally, the solution shows low cytotoxicity and capability to inhibit bacterial proliferation.
