Implementing two national responsibilities of the revised UNICEF/WHO Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative: A two-country case study

Summary: The 2018 implementation guidance for BFHI recommends institutionalizing the ten Steps through national responsibilities for universal coverage and sustainability. Documenting and sharing policy and program experience are critical as countries adapt to this paradigm shift. This qualitative case study explored BFHI programming in the Kyrgyz Republic and Malawi, highlighting the use of incentives and technical assistance. More evidence and documentation are needed to support the institutionalization of BFHI.

Educational Resources and Curriculum on Lactation for Health Undergraduate Students: A Scoping Review

Summary: This article explores the educational resources, methods, and curriculum used in the education of undergraduate health students related to lactation through a scoping review. The findings suggest that best practice standards are used for educational resources, methods, curricular approaches, and foundational topics. However, despite improvement in knowledge and skill, there is still a lack of change in students' confidence. It is important to ensure consistency and improvement in teaching across disciplines.
